Abstract: The third platform coined by theInternational Data Corporation (IDC) is a fundamental model for a variety of cyber-physical infrastructures including an autonomous driving infrastructure.It consists of cloud, mobile, social, big data technologies, and possibly the Internet of Things (IoTs) where cloud services are at the heart of the platform.Scalable monitoring plays an important role in cloud computing and it is used to understand the status of a cloud based on readings of computing nodes collected at the important locations of the cloud for autonomous driving. In this talk, I will first give an overview of my research in the related areas. Then, I will present a series of cloud service status algorithms for autonomous driving and discuss my investigation for the properties of these algorithms through theoretical analysis and experiments. Furthermore, I will present my Software Defined Networking (SDN)-based approaches and machine learning techniques for scalable monitoring.
Bio:Dr. Kaiqi Xiong is on the faculty of the University of South Florida. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Sciences and his M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the North Carolina State University, respectively. His current research lies in the development of algorithms and tools for computer network and data analytics with applications to cyber-physical infrastructures where autonomous vehicles, smart grids, and emergency response systems are studied for smart cities. He received the Best Demo Award at the US Ignite Application Summit and GEC22 and Best Paper Awards at several conferences.
