Abstract. Communication and information are the basis of smart city development. This talk is about the real-time management of communication performance for smart cities that have a vast number of networking nodes and services. I will focus on both QoS and QoE, and discuss the challenges in guaranteeing such performance by analysing the characteristics of smart city communication networks. The opportunity of employing data to automatically manage QoS/QoE performance will be demonstrated by presenting our data-driven QoS and QoE framework.
报告人简介: Dr. Wanqing Tu is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland. Her research is in the general areas of computer networks and wireless communications. Her current research interests mainly lie in wireless multihop networks, mobile computing, smart cities, cognitive networks, data-driven performance management, multicast/group communications, drone, etc. In these areas, she designs algorithms or protocols and carries out performance analysis for resource utilisation and management, and large-scale communication sustainability.
Dr. Tu is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a Fellow of (UK) the Higher Education Academy. Her research results published in IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions., IEEE JSAC, etc. She was awarded research grants or awards from EPSRC, RAEng, IRCSET, etc. She received a scholarship to complete Women and Leadership Executive Ready Program Australia & New Zealand.
